Western Canada has suffered at the hands of weak leaders who fail to stand up for their constituents. We live in the most prosperous region of the country by a substantial margin, yet our leaders have consistently failed to secure our rightful place as a central stakeholder in the Canadian confederation.
Our goal at the Western Unity Group is to ensure that future leaders in the western provinces focus entirely on the interests of the west. For too long our provinces have been governed by weak leaders who place their federal ambitions and personal interests above the people who elected them.
A primary objective of our organization is to stop this trend by championing pro-western causes and pressuring politicians to keep their promises. By promoting policies that ensure a strong and prosperous west, while simultaneously standing against weak leadership, the Western Unity Group will fight for western Canadians first.
